How does Volinga work?
Volinga offers tools to help media and entertainment professionals take full advantage of 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS). The workflow is flexible, follows industry standards, and involves just a few simple steps to get started.
Can I try Volinga’s products out?
Yes — you can start a trial to download and test the Unreal Engine Plugin (watermarked, non‑commercial) or explore the Volinga Suite.
What is the difference between Volinga Suite and the Unreal Engine Plugin?
What is the Volinga Capture Network (VCN)?
VCN is a global network of capture specialists partnered with Volinga to deliver high-quality 3DGS assets and streamline the workflow from capture to final render.
How do I remove the Volinga watermark?
You need a paid subscription; free trials include watermarks for non-commercial use.
How does licensing work?
How do I use my license?
Can I use my license on multiple devices?
One seat/device per subscription; transfers may require support.
How many render nodes can I use?
Plugin licenses allow unlimited render nodes configured with the license file.
Will packaged Unreal builds run without a watermark on other computers?
Yes — if the plugin license is activated before packaging.
What happens if my subscription expires?
Existing watermark-free NVOL files remain usable; new rendering requires active license.
Is an internet connection required?
Online activation initially; Suite supports offline licensing.
Does the plugin enable 3DGS to interact with light?
Yes. Supports "additive lighting" so 3DGS assets interact with Unreal lighting while preserving captured details.
Does the plugin support rendering multiple 3DGS simultaneously?
Yes — multiple 3DGS actors can be rendered in the same level.
Can I import and render PLY files from other tools?
Yes — but removing the watermark requires a valid plugin license.
Does it support HDR, ACES, and OCIO?
Yes — HDR and ACES workflows are supported; OCIO integration works for color management.
Is the plugin compatible with Mac, iOS, or Android?
Not currently. Requires an NVIDIA GPU on Windows.
Does the plugin support nDisplay or multi-node rendering?
Yes — multiple screens and distributed rendering are supported.
What are the system requirements for Volinga Suite?
Minimum: Windows 11, mid-range CPU, 32 GB RAM, RTX-class GPU.
Recommended: high-end CPU/RAM and RTX A6000-class GPU for large scenes.
What input data is needed for training a 3DGS?
At least ~20 images or a short video; more images produce better results.
Can I edit the splats themselves?
You can merge multiple 3DGS assets but cannot directly edit individual splats yet.
Can external SfM or photogrammetry tools be used?
Yes — Reality Capture, Metashape, etc., if aligned to COLMAP standards.
Does Volinga Suite work offline?
Yes — offline licensing is supported.
